I had told Brooke Alexander that I'd like to work
on a stone sometime. One day he appeared with
a grand monstrous hunk of limestone. So I propped
it up and, thinking about Chardin's portrait with a
visor, drew an image of myself showing the prideful
joy I possessed in having such a rock to draw on.
